About Patrice
It always comes back to words.
Words on the page. Words on the stage. Words spoken from a pulpit, whispered in a sanctuary, written in the margins of a life still being lived. I have spent my entire life finding words for things that resist easy naming — and helping others do the same.
I am a writer first. That has never changed. But the writing has always been in service of something larger than the page. It became performance when my body needed to speak what my pen had written. It became ministry when I understood that the Word was never meant to stay silent. It became spiritual direction when I learned to listen for God in the stories people carry without knowing how to tell them. It became the work of helping women write, speak, and witness their own lives when I discovered what happens in a room where a woman finally says the true thing out loud.
All of it is the same work. The medium changes. The calling doesn't.
Everything you find here is an expression of that — one life lived and offered through words, in service of those who sense that God's story and our story were never meant to stay separate.
I am trained in theology, creative writing, spiritual direction, and transformational leadership. Ordained in the Baptist tradition, I serve as Associate Minister of Spiritual Formation and Creative Practice at Convergence — a ministry for artists of faith. But what guides everything is a longing to know, love, and follow Christ — and to make room for that encounter where God's story meets our story.
If you feel at home in that kind of space, I'm grateful our paths have crossed.
